When someone dies without a will in place it can cause tremendous stress and pain to family and friends left behind. Even worse:
So it’s really important to have a will in place, particularly when you have children, buy or sell a house, marry, cohabit or divorce.
April is Will Month for St. Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield, a charity that every year looks after 1600 terminally ill patients and their families at no cost to them. As a partner with St. Luke’s, we’ll draw up a basic will for you free of charge and ask you to make a donation to the hospice. Suggested donations are £95 for a single will and £135 for a joint will, significantly less than you would usually pay.
You’ll have a properly drafted will that means you know what will happen to your estate when you die. At the same time you’ll be helping to raise vital funds for the hospice. Of the £8.7 million St. Luke’s needs every year, £6.1 million comes from fundraising and donations. It costs £993 per hour to run the hospice, 365 days a year. So every donation, however small, makes a difference.
