Vibration White Fingers

Vibration white finger (VWF) also known as hand/arm vibration syndrome is a painful condition affecting fingers, hands, wrists and/or arms. It is caused by a prolonged use of hand-held vibrating equipment. If you have used vibratory tools in your workplace without any or adequate protection you may be able to claim.

You may have worked in any of the following roles where you have been exposed to vibrating machinery: factory workers, foundry workers, steelworkers, fabrications/manufacturers, fitters, miners, construction workers and other such roles.

You may suffer from symptoms such as:

  • Muscle weakness

  • Impaired blood circulation

  • Numbness

  • Tingling

  • Blanching of fingers

  • Pins and needles

  • Reduced dexterity

  • Coldness

  • Pain in the hands and a weekend grip

These symptoms often worsen in colder weather.

We are able to help you claim for vibration white finger if you have been subject to excessive exposure during your employment after 1975.

If you need advice relating to one of the above conditions please call the PM Law Industrial Disease team on 0114 296 5444 or submit your details on our brief online help form and one of our legal consultants will contact you at a convenient time.
